For those who aren’t familiar with Twitter, it is a social network where anyone can create a profile and can do “microblogging” which means that the person can –in up to 140 characters- write whatever comes to his or her mind, whether it is what he or she is doing, thinking or something interesting that just happened. This text can be sent from the main website or by cell phone. You can choose who to follow and the person’s text entrees that will appear in your home page.

This social network has become quite popular in the US and in many other countries in the last years. Many famous people have created profiles to be closer with their fans, and golfers haven’t been left behind. From Jack Nicklaus, the controversial John Daly, the new star Y.E. Yang, to the pink panther Paula Creamer, the popular Michelle Wie, Natalie Gulbis and many more.

Some of these gofers have received negative comments because they tweet while playing in important golf tournaments, and even though a lot of fans appreciate it some argue that this may distract them and lower the quality of their game. To create your twitter account and start following your favorite politician, actor or golfer you just have to go to www.twitter.com and follow the easy instructions, in 10 minutes you can be following anyone you want.
